Itinerary
DAY 1 : (ARRIVAL MEDAN – BUKIT LAWANG)
Welcomed by our representative driver/guide at the airport
or pick up at Medan hotel. Drive to Bukit Lawang, the place of Orangutans
located in Gunung Leuser National Park through by landscape with vast view of
palm oil and rubber plantation. En-route it’s possible to stop at rubber, oil
palm and cacao plantations with some countryside landscape (optional). Arrive
in Bukit Lawang, check in hotel. overnight stay in Bukit Lawang.
DAY 2 : (JUNGLE TREKKING IN THE NATIONAL PARK OF GUNUNG LEUSER FOR 6 TO 7 HOURS)
After breakfast, at 09:00 am start for a 6 hours jungle
trekking in Gunung Leuser National Park to see the wildlife. This
involves a walk through the jungle to explore the park. Steep, slopes and dense
vegetation will bring you the excitement of the rain forest. In this tropical
primary rainforest, you can see the varieties of birds, butterflies, Siamang
(long arm apes), different kinds of reptiles. Lunch included on the jungle
trekking. The rest is your own program, you can swim or take a beautiful walk
to the local village nearby. Return to hotel.
DAY 3 : (ELEPHANT ACTIVITIES IN TANGKAHAN)
At around 09:00 am, your guide will collect you from your
guesthouse in Bukit Lawang and you will start your journey to Tangkahan by
aircon jeep (2 hours) along bumpy roads through villages and palm oil
plantations. On arrival, after registering with the park office, you will start
your elephant trek through the jungle (2 hours), where your guide will explain
how Tangkahan became a protected area for elephants, as well as showing you the
local flora, fauna and wildlife.
After your trek, you will have the opportunity to wash
and feed the elephants, before eating lunch at a traditional restaurant
overlooking the river. Tangkahan elephant tour. Afternoon – a short walk from
the restaurant and a swim across the river leads you to a natural hot spring,
where you will have time to swim and relax, before drive back to your
guesthouse in Bukit Lawang.
DAY 4 : (BUKIT LAWANG - MEDAN HOTEL OR AIRPORT)
In the morning after breakfast (Defending of your flight
departure) take tour to the bat cave afterward also can continue tour to the
village to see rice field, how to made brown sugar, bamboo weaving and etc.
After the tour back and lunch in Bukit Lawang, before begin travel to Medan
hotel or to airport.
