Itinerary
DAY 01 : ARRIVAL MEDAN –BUKIT LAWANG/ 4 hrs drive .
Arrive at Kuala Namu International Airport or Medan hotel.
Welcomed by our representative /driver guide. Drive to Bukit
Lawang the Orangutans located in Gunung Leuser National Park through by
landscape with vast view of palm oil and rubber plantation. En-route it’s
possible to stop at rubber, oil palm and cacao plantations with some
countryside landscape (optional). Arrive in Bukit Lawang, check in hotel.
DAY 02 : BUKIT LAWANG – LEUSER NATIONAL PARK/ 6 to 7 hrs
trek + Traditional tube rafting back.
Jungle trekking activities.
After breakfast, our guide will pick up you at 8.30am from
guesthouse/Hotel in Bukit Lawang and you will start your journey into the
jungle of Gunung Leuser National Park to see wild orangutans. On your trek (6-7
hours), your guide will educate you on the local wildlife, flora and fauna you
may encounter in Gunung Leuser. After lunch, you will continue your trek to see
other wildlife (if you’re lucky you may see the Thomas’ leaf monkey,
white-handed gibbon, black gibbon, long-tailed macaque, pig-tailed macaque,
hornbills, peacocks and monitor lizards) and learn about the trees/plants which
can be used in traditional medicine.
Late afternoon-on arrival at camp, you are free to enjoy the
fresh water of the Bohorok river, swim and relax. Later on, you will leave the
campsite by traditional rafting boat (‘jungle style’) following the river
downstream to the village Bukit Lawang (guest house/hotel). Over night here.
DAY 03: BUKIT LAWANG - LAKE TOBA.
In the morning after breakfast at 09:00 am get ready for journey
to Lake Toba. The travel is will be take around 7 to 8 hours and during the
journey you will stop at the waterfall Sipiso-piso, where you can enjoy a
spectacular view from the top of the hill. At noon continue journey to Lake
Toba, cross to Samosir Island from Parapat. Check in relax and enjoy the place
in here (Tuk Tuk Island).
DAY 04 : LAKE TOBA ( SAMOSIR ISLAND ) /1 Day island tour.
In the morning after breakfast start tour around Samosir
Island. Visit the Ambarita village, then Simanindo to see Batak museum and
Batak traditional dance performance at 10:30 am. After the performance visit
another village to see sarong/ulos or Batak blanket maker. You can stop for
lunch before back to the accommodation in the afternoon. After the tour take a
rest or swim in the lake on your last day in Lake Toba.
DAY 05 : BUKIT LAWANG – MEDANAIRPORT /5 hrs drive.
End the tour.
In morning after breakfast, start your journey back to Medan
(4 to 5 hours). Time permitting, you will have the opportunity to visit one of
Medan’s cultural highlights e.g. Maimun Palace, Great Mosque of Medan, Tjong A
Fie’s mansion, Marian Shrine of Annai Velangkanni or Maha Vihara Maitreya
Cemara Asri, before being dropped to the airport.
