Tangkahan Elephant Tour
Tangkahan (‘the lost paradise’) is a village located just 2
hours drive from Bukit Lawang. Famous for its Sumatran elephants, it also
offers a natural unspoilt environment where you can experience a unique jungle
adventure together with elephants. We can provide all the necessary
arrangements to make your experience truly magical.
Option 1. 1 day elephant adventure
At around 9am, your guide will pick you up from your
guesthouse/hotel in Bukit Lawang and you will start your journey to Tangkahan
by aircon jeep (2 hours) along the way will have villages and national park
view. On arrival, after registering with the park office, you will start your
elephant wash activities (30 minutes), here the guide will als0 explain how
Tangkahan became a protected area for elephants, as well as showing you the
flora and fauna.
After the activities, you will have lunch at a
traditional restaurant overlooking the view of the river and forest.
In the afternoon you will have a short walk from the
restaurant and a swim across the river that leads you to a natural hot spring
where you will have time to swim and relax before we drive back to your
guesthouse/hotel in Bukit Lawang.

Guide fees, elephant activities, transport with driver and
petrol, bottle of water and meals (lunch).
What to bring :
A small backpack with a change of clothes, raincoat,
swimwear, small towel, medicines, camera + spare battery + memory card (in a
waterproof bag), insect repellent, sunblock, plastic bag (to put wet clothes
in).
Option 2. Elephant wash activities
Spend an hour getting up close to Sumatran elephants. Not
only will you get to wash and feed them but if you’re lucky you may also get an
‘elephant shower’ or kiss.

Includes
1 hour washing activities and feeding session with the
elephants and guide fees.
Package excludes : Elephant trek, transport with driver
and petrol, all meals and drinks.
