Holiday In 11 Days Bukit Lawang-Sumatra Orangutan Treks
Day One
Holiday start - Pick-up from Medan airport or hotel and
travel by private transportation to accommodation in Bukit lawang.
Days Two
Start after breakfast walk into the jungle for practis trek
(three hours) Back to the accommodation take a rest, after lunch to tour to the
village and at noon visit a bat cave.
Days Three
Breakfast and departure for the trek. Walk around 6-7 hours
into the jungle looking for orangutan and other wildlife. Around noon lunch
break, before walk continues through to the camp. Take a rest at the camp, get
hot drink tea or coffee after taking shower in the small stream. Preparation of
dinner.
Days Four
Walk around 5-6 hours into the jungle looking for orangutans
and other animals, discovering medicinal plants and learning about their use.
Around noon lunch break, before trek continues to the camp. Take a rest at the
camp, get a hot drink and take a shower in small stream near to the waterfall.
Day Five
After breakfast get ready for the trek. Walk around 6-7
hours go to the next camp, searching for wild orangutan and other
wildlife. Discovering medicinal plants, jungle-food: learn their use and preparation.After
walk from the jungle, walk along the river to get to the camp site. Take a rest
at the camp and a shower in the small river and get hot drink. Preparation of
dinner.
Day Six
Start after breakfast, get ready for the trek. Walk around 6-7
hours along the river to the next camp while searching for signs of wild
orangutan nests and other wildlife tracks, collect jungle-vegetables for
dinner. If you want, you can learn how to make the jungle-camp and how to
prepare jungle-dinner.
Day Seven
Start after breakfast, get ready for the trek The camp will
not move this day. Trek around the camp for 5-6 hours searching for wild
orangutans and other animals. Collect jungle-vegetables for dinner. Around 6
o`clock in the afternoon watch the animals in the salt lake, where they come to
drink to get iron from the stone. Preparation of dinner.
Day Eight
Start after breakfast, get ready for the trek. The camp will
not move this day, trek around the camp for 5-6 hours on different
trails. Search for wild orangutans and other animals, collect jungle-vegetables
for dinner. After walk back to the camp, take a rest after having shower
in the small stream. Around 6 o`clock in the afternoon watch the animals in the
salt lake, where they come to drink to get iron from the stone. Preparation of
dinner.
Day Nine
After breakfast start to walk to the next camp. Walk around
5-6 hours to the jungle, searching for wild orangutans and other animals. Take
a rest at the camp and get a hot drink, after taking a swim in the clean jungle
river. Preparation of dinner.
Day Ten
Continue your jungle adventure, spotting wildlife. After
lunch, 4 to 5 hours, your guide will takeyou will leave the campsite by
traditional rafting boat (‘jungle style’) following the river downstream
directly to the village (Bukit Lawang).
Days Eleven
Travel by private car travel from Bukit Lawang to Medan
(airport or hotel).
